Chinese Love to Visit Lake Hallstatt China Village

Chinese Copied Hallstatt in their Chinese province of Guangdong. It is not uncommon for the Chinese to copy Western architecture and culture. The most recent example is the city of Hallstatt in China’s Guangdong province. The city was built to be a replica of the Austrian town of the same name and even includes a replica of the famous Church of St. Michael.

The Chinese city of Hallstatt is a direct copy of the Austrian original, right down to the replicated church. The only difference is that the Chinese version is much larger, with a population of over 1 million people.

Moreover, the project was overseen by Chinese real estate developer Shui On Land, who purchased the rights to use the Hallstatt name and design from Austria in 2010. Construction in the Chinese city began in 2011 and was completed in just two years.
